HELP A My Wedding Stories Question

These are the issues that were addressed in the most recent patch.

My Wedding Stories
Ceremony interactions are now available when doing a Vow Renewal or Reception at another Sim’s home.
Sims should now show up in their appropriate attire for Wedding Ceremonies
Vow Renewal is now only available to Married Sims, and Wedding Ceremony is only available to Engaged Sims.

You may want to wait for the second MWS patch before continuing with weddings.

The officiant doesn't work in my game, but you don't have to trash the event if you don't want to though. There is an option on the arch for the officiant, but if it doesn't work, you can still click on the arch again and select exchange vows and they will get married without him.

But none of those are my issue, I'm afraid. I just want to know if it's okay to invite a Sim to be the officiant after you've already setup the wedding event? If not, then I should delete the event and set it up again. Thanks for responding. :)

As far as I know, you have to ask the best man, flowergirl in advance, so that their names appear in the list when planning the wedding..

You can add the wedding party, cake and ring after you set up an event. That worked okay in my game. If you go back and check the event, you should see the people you invited show up there.

Hm. I either missed that part when reading the hints article on the subject. But, now I may just go ahead and delete the event just to replace it. He has met more of her family, since I originally set it up, plus the clergy he wants to officiate. Also, the bride's youngest sister might make for a good Flower girl/pal. Also, he has met the younger brother of one of his brothers' girlfriend. He would make the right age for a ring bearer, since his own youngest brother has aged up to Teen. Oh, I don't know, why not have Adrian do the honors? LOL What do you mean he's a little tall? This whole adventure is making me goofy. Two days after the engagement and the bride is flirting with others. The next night she's 'hitting' on the Sim destined to be her sister-in-law's hubby. Face/palm. Not sure how much more of this drama I can stand, quite frankly.

ETA: I'm beginning to think this particular pack needs to come with a guide. I guess it would behoove me to check to see if they have lessons to follow. Don't know why I just now thought of this. I've always been one to check there, first, if I couldn't find my way around. OOFFDDAA.

Unless it was answered, you probably have to plan a new event as the sims have to be asked in a conversation for them to show up. I also have had four ceremonies and only the last did the officiant work after the patch.
I reccommend calling sims to aisle then resetting them before starting that helped me but if your game is still responding to thise exact bugs it may mot work.

Yes, I decided to delete the event, then I had my Sim go visit his fiancée so he could meet the youngest in her family. The girl is still a Child, (at least for the moment, we'll see if she ages to Teen before the Wedding. That would be the way my luck is running currently.) The couple then went next door in order to ask their priest's eldest son to be the Ring Bearer. I had him select two of his brothers to be Sims of Honor, and for some reason I had him ask his sister, too. She's the only one who showed up when I went to schedule the Wedding Event again. Weirdness. I had him purchase a cake on the compurter, because the explanation in the calendar said a cake had to be ordered, first, but it still wouldn't let me add cake. I was fooling around with stuff in his inventory and lo, and behold, I clicked on the cake and it allowed me to save for wedding. I do hope it won't spoil —I've heard people complain about this. If it does, I'll just have him bring along a laptop so he can order it again, since I couldn't find a way to do so on the phone.

you can also order cake on the day, not sure why it gets picky but good it showed up at all.

I discovered, by happenstance, that by clicking on the purchased cake in my Sims' personal inventory that it will save the cake for the wedding. I've heard others complain that the cake is spoiled and to make sure there is a kitchen nearby on the lot so that someone cake bake a fresh one. I've got the kitchen all built and ready. I was going to wait to purchase the cake on the day of the wedding, but then read the 'lessons' for the pack. I have tried to set everything up as they stated. (I'm a stay within the lines type-A personality.) I know, it's hard being me. But, I am learning to laugh at myself, so that's a good thing. The problem is, the Event menu still wouldn't let me choose the cake. That's when I tried clicking on it in the personal inventory and got the message it would be saved for the wedding. :open_mouth: I read how many were complaining about all of the glitches, but didn't chime in because I hadn't yet played the pack. Now, I'm starting to discover problems. This pack has potential, too. I was so excited when it was announced. Now, I'm just trying to get to the date to see how the wedding goes. I'm starting to grow philosophical about the whole thing. It can't be any worse than how weddings used to go, right? I'm lowering my expectations. I think I'll be happy if the guests just sit and attend the wedding. :confused:
