HELP Constant kitchen fires

That time she was, I bought a cheaper oven after this as I was sick of spending 13k each time multiple times a day they set it on fire. Before that I had tried moving the oven to different spots. Tried different sims cooking. There are 5 in the household and most of the time they're not in the red. I'm getting tempted to move house in case it's the lot. They have gnomes fixing things at night, but I thought that would help. Could it be that?

It's so frustrating

Nope.

This time her brother cooked he had everything in the green, a brand new oven. And close to finishing the ham dinner the whole oven went up in flames

I'm moving house, it's ridiculous

Could it have anything to do with the reliability stat of the oven?

I've also noticed a lot more kitchen fires recently (and some from lighting the Winterfest Tree....) and am not sure why. Once on Winterfest, my Sim Silas tried to cook a grand meal and it caught fire, so I tried again, and it caught fire, so I tried again, and it caught fire again! At one point I noticed Father WInter (who I hadn't even seen arrive) running around in terror from the fires. :D

I was wrong! New house hasn't made a difference.

This time it was the pregnant girlfriend that set the bbq on fire, and she was completely in the green. They can't extinguish it and the fire department hasn't turned up!
Bbq too near the balcony? It was already there when they moved in.

arrrrgggghhh so frustrating. I think I'll go and play another household for a while and see if it happens to them. Then I'll know if its a constistant bug and not just an unlucky family.

Thank you people, I gave up and have started a completely new game. It got way too frustrating.
