HELP I Can't Get My Sim Over His Anger!

I made the mistake of having my Sim select a particular acting gig that required he research anger. Well, I used the cheat to make him angry, but he failed in his research. I turned to this forum and learned this was a particularly difficult daily task. So, I canceled the gig and chose another one for him. However, the Anger was in his stack of moodlets and now it's front and center. I have had him drink the serums to make him happy, as it seemed to work during yesterday's gameplay. Only to find today, he's Very Angry. He's autonomously blogged about his feelings. I had him scribble furiously in his journal, he even kicked over his own trash can, to no avail. Sadly, it shows he has five more days of this awful mood.

MCCC couldn't override it, unless I did something wrong, in the mods application

Please help me resolved this.

Maybe if you try to research another mood, it will replace the anger one?

The problem with that is I believe the only time research ---- comes up is when it's part of a daily task for a gig.

Well, try to see if there is another gig with a different moodlet. Otherwise, I don't know, buy lots of mirrors and have them calm themselves, use those incense burners, meditate, buy lots of happy paintings and happy aura lamps. Just try to keep him distracted with other strong moods.

Yeah, he still gets those serums, and I had him buy some Happy ones using his aspiration points, of which he's got tons of points. He drank two and it helped. I forgot about the mirror trick, so thank you for reminding me. I did have him read, as another player posted, had him scribble furiously in his journal and that worked for a time. I'm just upset because it was finally out of his queue of moodlets just to return with a vengeance, the very next gaming session! What the hey—? I saved before I quit for the day, so why does it seem the game rolls back a bit? It's now set to last for 47 days! 47. He'll be an Adult by the time he's over his anger. Sheesh. Something is seriously broken here.

If you don’t have UI Cheats Extension I highly recommend getting it as I think it’s the only way you’re going to be able to remove the angry buff. It’s a very simple and extremely stable mod. You can get here. All you will have to do once the mod is installed is right click your angry buff and poof it will be gone. Otherwise you risk your sim dying of cardiac explosion. Your only other option that I’m aware of is to install a mod from Twisted Mexi that re-enables the remove emotional buffs cheat that was disabled when Seasons was released. You can read about that here. I don’t know anything about this mod, I’ve never used it. But I do know he’s a very capable and widely trusted mod creator in the Sims community.

I have disabled Emotional Deaths via MCCC already. But, I will look into this UI Cheats Extension mod so many talk about. Thanks. When you say click on the angry buff is that down on the bar where the buffs show? Or do I have to go into the menu to remove buffs, first?

Sorry for the late reply @GalacticGal, right click on the actual buff icon on your screen and it will be instantly removed It’s my favorite feature in the mod honestly because sometimes it’s just time to drop the emotional baggage and move on and often the game leaves them wallowing too long in my opinion. There is no menu in this mod really you just point and click or right click directly on your onscreen UI. The only exception I would say is with simoleans. You can add and subtract those by right clicking the household amount in the lower left corner and directly add, subtract, or set to a certain amount your household simoleans, bits & pieces from Eco Lifestyle and the space credits from Journey To Batuu. I also love being able at times to click on the far right end of the need bars and solve those in a snap too! Just be careful about clicking the left side of a need bar as that instantly depletes them. I accidentally starved a sim to death that way once, R.I.P. Charlie ??⚰️
  • Another vote for removing unwanted buffs with UI Cheats. I gave my sim the High Maintenance trait and most of the time it's fun but I can do without the angry moodlets. Mainly because I hate the stomping around animation. Right click and poof it's gone.

I am rather curious about this mod, but does it interfere with the mechanism from GTW that allows for the player to 'follow' the Sim to work?

No, not at all. It’s a very stable reliable mod. It’s easy to install just download and pop it into your mods folder. There are no settings to mess with, if your not using it you could pretty much forget it’s there because it doesn’t affect any gameplay at all until you interact with it. It does tend to break with every patch, but Werbeesu always has it fixed pretty much right away. I put it in on a lark once and now I can’t play without it. It’s more of a staple for me than even MCCC.

If you have questions I’m always happy to help. :)

I installed the mod and it works like a champ! Thank you, this has opened up an avenue for my Sim to continua in the Acting Career. Oh, he still sings, as his primary career, but he's accumulating a ton of awards. Since the only other career that will recognize his singing prowess is the Entertainment Career, which sadly has your Sim submit his music and my Sim won. However, instead of sending him to the Accolades as they do when they get nominated for an acting role, you just get notified of a win. So sad.

So glad you like it and it was able to save your file so you didn't have to start over.
  • Oh, me, too! I can't recall just how many times I've had to restart. This is the third time just since the patch on the 21st!
