Holiday ideas

I have some Holiday ideas since we know we can make them.

Number 1:
Snow Days - If snow days aren't making a return I'll be making them, I absolutely loved when my Sims in older games could have the day off and have a cosy day in.

Number 2:
New Years - I really want to make New Years if this also doesn't make a return. I want to also try making a Chinese New Year with my more cultural families which would be really fun!

Number 3:
July 4th (Independence Day) - I want to make the day for July 4th in a park during Summer where people are making food, setting off fireworks and just having a good time.

Not sure what I'd make guess it depends on how it's set up, it would be nice if they were like clubs setting the traditional activies, with of course new ones connecting to seasons or something and the vibe that decides what they feel during them. I'll have to think about it...hmm maybe some holiday food related, like a cheese day and anything you might put cheese on will be celebrated...cause why not? Lol.

I'd like to make Mother's Day, Father's Day, Children's Day, if they don't already exist (Children's Day probably doesn't as I don't think it is celebrated in the US). Also, hopefully we can customize clothing that sims wear during a specific holiday, or at least the colors. Here in my country most people wear white during New Years so I hope there is a way to make sims wear white too.

I'd love an option to choose whether a holiday will only be celebrated by one family or everyone!

They might reuse the Festival UI for this. Notification when it starts with a button that pops up to find out more info and travel if needed.

I saw noticeboards with a calendar in game, so they can probably be checked for events, and maybe can even be posted there?

Good topic. I think for a holiday I would like to create something completely new, something based around romance (I really loved the romance festival). It's going to be interesting how these custom holidays play out in Seasons.

I have a “midsummer day” and the traditions are water fun, bbq, drinking, party spirit and fire. If you want you can switch any of those to invite guests
