Since I skipped TS3, I never got to experience horses in The Sims, but I would love to catch up on that. Just a week ago, I was furnishing a Victorian mini-farm in Willow Creek for an old-fashioned noblewoman who willingly foregoes modern amenities for a 19th century lifestyle, and I thought, should I give her a bike to drive around the town? Nah, a horse would make so much more sense! (She ended up getting a bike anyway, but only because she had to travel a lot and I didn't know how else to speed that up.)
I wouldn't even mind them being confined to a stable as long as they're at home, but of c'horse, you should be able to go for a ride with them as well. Otherwise, what's the point? And please, don't make them disappear into a sim's inventory whenever they're not being used, that would be silly - yes, I realise it happens to cows and llamas, too, but those are basically objects that can't exist without a stable. I hope horses won't be. Didn't TS3 treat them more like family members anyway, similar to cats and dogs? Let's do that again.
