Households randomly being changed to "Played"? (Solved)

Ever since the patch that added the new neighborhood stories features I am having households that are in "My Households" but which are not and have never been "played" just randomly get marked as played and start showing up under the "played households" filter.

Has anyone else seen this happen in their game? I'm trying to figure out if there's some specific thing which happens to cause it or if it is just completely random.

Edit: Finally figured out the cause of this today, it was MCCC. The MCCC feature responsible was the auto-rename on marriage. I had it set to automatically rename, but in another setting I had it set to manually prompt. I wasn't seeing the manual prompts, but those fringe cases where that setting and the auto-rename was occurring on the same unplayed households they were getting marked as played when it happened.

Yes this is happening to me. When they get moved in they change as a "my household" family. Not always but a few times. My library saves are also entering the game as townies suddenly as well. I thought one of my households (where stories are disabled) died as per the mailbox check. Nope turns out they have a duplicate family that randomly walking around as "townies"

I also have duplicate Goths as well who aren't in my households and I have no idea where these clones are coming from

Do you have MCCC? I only ask because it has a setting to pull sims from your library to fill townie roles, just going by process of elimination in case that’s a mod issue.

@Pamtastic72 nope I don't have mccc I just have a lot of clones showing up even some that are premades I never saved to library
  • No, not yet and I hope not. I use that to control a lot of things in my game, like aging.
  • @Pamtastic72, so it turns out you were on the right track for my problem as well. I finally figured out today what was causing this. It wasn't the "Sims from tray" feature, but it was MCCC responsible for unplayed households getting marked as played.
