How bright/stupid are vampires?

Yeah, I bought the vampire pack (which I wasn't going to do yet :tongue: ) and am a bit lost.

I haven't had too much of an issue with this unless I invited a vampire to something during the day. Then they will show up in the sun still and if there isn't shelter they will get crispy. However they did seem to find shelter if they could while I was playing.

I know when it was first released there was some issues with vampires being outside but I haven't noticed any lately.

The bigger issue is your own controlled vampires.
The play on phone interaction is notorious in my saves for distracting vampires after they come home from work/school/activity. This has lead to some vampires burning up right outside the house because I was doing something else and didn't notice to direct them inside. This issue still was happening consistently when I was last playing.

Edit: I didn't see the no autonomous turning question before, but no they don't turn other townies unless you play them and make them. They will autonomously feed on townies if in a poor mood (angry or are very hungry) & the game will randomly generate new vampire townies.

If you don't want the game generating vampire townies in a save make sure to delete the two vampire households (Vlad & the Vatores) in FH before you start playing. Also don't play with vampire sims or research them, both of those can lead to more vampire spawns. There has been various reports on the effectiveness of these techniques at keeping Vampires out of saves, so you may or may not have to still delete vampire townies every once and a while (I don't play saves with out vampires enough to tell you how well this has worked for me)

If you just don't want Vlad to call with vampire lessons, just delete him.

If you have City Living, I've seen Vampires attending festivals, playing guitars and so on while the sun was STILL out without being cooked! :open_mouth:

I worked too hard in CAS to make my Sims (pictured: my Jamie Jolina as Vampire), have them learn Vampire lore, and turn them into Vampires, to simply barbecue them in the sun!

I'm not sure if City Living introduced a bug (I've had Vampires longer than City Living), but I don't ever recall seeing Vampires out walking around with the sun still up.

That is kind of interesting that the vampires aren't burning up outside though.
Celeb has sun immunity so he wouldn't cook, but all of the others I have had come to house parties and start burning up on me. I wonder if festivals are programmed to not let vampires die during them or something.

For some reason CL has a problem where they can't stop making people immortal and vampires sunproof.

I've seen vampires in many places in the daylight, not just festivals, with none burning up. The chessboards at the various parks seem to be a favourite, as well as what are NPC roles in TS2.

Legit when I get food in san myshuno this same guy stands there cooking himself almost daily


My favorite thing is the elder in the back just watching this unfold and not reacting xD

i've also seen vamps standing around in san myshuno without burning.
however, i've had my own vamps die at parties when i'm not playing them and vlad has died many times standing outside my sim's houses.

I think I created a smart Vampire, Granted I cheated to create him, I've never seen him out and about when I rotate households. granted he has the Sun Resistance Power. but still he's never bothered anyone unless I command it and and not many know about him so it's kind of nice.
he's never broke into a House either.
