How can I tell the different pitches of the voice samples in Sims 4?

I wanted to give one of my female sims a high pitched voice, and well, I couldn't figure it out. All the female samples sounded so similar. I don't understand the symbols either: piece of candy, music note, bird, bell, campfire, and trumpet. What the heck?! And sure they have labels to them that I forgot, but still doesn't change that the female voices are similar. At least that's what it sounded like to me.

I wanted a high pitched female voice, and I failed to find one and gave up. And I swear they exist cause npc sims seem to have different vocal ranges! So I don't get why I can't find the one I want. Please be kind.

  • There should be a slider under the symbols which impacts the pitch. If I'm remembering, the further right it is, the higher the pitch.

The symbols represent different vocal presets - I don't remember all of them, but I think they're sweet, lyrical, chirpy, ... okay I don't remember the bell at all... warm and brassy. Each preset also comes with a default pitch, I think. I honestly don't mess with the vocals much any more.

Well I tried to mess with the slider, but I couldn't find the pitch I wanted! And going all the way into the bell-trumpet you get the male voices! Ugh, it's gonna be hard for me to find the pitch I want. But thanks for the comment.

The women's orginal presets are the musical, lilted, and sweet. That is they type of accents if you can use your imagination. From there, you use the slider. Going left lowers the pitch and going right makes it higher. The other three are the male's orginal accent-type presets. The slider is the same left lowers it and right makes it higher. Does that explain it good enough?

Yes it does. But I don't know why I couldn't hear the pitch change between the female voices. Maybe I need to try it again.
