How can you benefit from the ability to make another sim tense or sad?

I've been playing with an article about Island Living, and I'm kind of stuck on a mermaid ability, specifically, the mermaid ability Aegean's Question which will make almost any sim tense and Night's ...

As for the topic itself, mermaids are supposed to be bad news for humans in the first place, so those abilities make a lot of sense. It's nice that they're optionally there, I put them to... good use.


Yeah, I believe they originally were Sirens (Homer) that would cause men to either crash their ships on rocks or jump ship and drown so they could eat them, right?
