I find my crow is very often off to debate with other crows, and I kind of expect that this is also leading up to an attack if crow is not well enough tended to. How likely is the attack to happen? ...

The crow is about as deadly as the cottage living chicken and rabbit attacking, UNLESS you have the chased by death trait. Meaning one time if you provoke the crow to attack you and your sim will definitely die.
You'll get a warning before hand not to be provoking your crow too much or else you'll be pecked to death.
