How do I earn Vampire power points?

Doing a rare vampire play, and sim's getting points by computer research, the books, and interactions like training and sparing. Meditation might be working, but not sure. Not been paying attention when compelled drinking is being done. Have noticed that the computer continues to give points even when it stops adding to the vampire lore skill level. My sim's been racking up the points like mad that way, 10 in the bank and almost at prime level. Been more focused on the Strangerville thing.
