Sounds like it could be an angry or sad painting. But I am not sure. Get your sim in one of those moods and see what they do when they paint that type of painting. Was it in the medium size? I think if it was a different size, it must not be an emotional painting because they only come out in the medium size. Hopefully someone knows for sure and can help better!
