How do I start a long-running game?
OK, i'll be honest. I literally can't play a household for more than a week, and whenever I read about people who have super long running games and i want to be able to do that too. Thanks xx Stella

Try rotational. You get bored with one household you can simply switch to another. Make them diverse (different life states, singles, families, different goals for each of them, in different neighborhoods, etc.) so it's not same thing, different family. Maybe have their lives intermingle & create some drama between them.
