How do I write song?

It's been awhile since I've done that but I remember I reached that goal long before I could actually write the songs. Once you build the skill high enough you will get the option. Someone can tell you the exact level but I'm thinking it was at least 7 if not higher.

I know it's a bit messed up that it's so far above the level you receive the task. I hope it works for you soon! I wish it hadn't been so long since I'd done it or I could be more help. Good luck!

My sim just got the interaction at level 9, even though it said at level 7 that she can.

That aspiration is heavy in the middle. You write songs at 8, then use the mailbox to license them at 9. But keep at it, tier 3 isn't so bad once you get past tier 2.

My Sim has been able to write a song but now only gets "write lyrics" which doesn't count for the aspiration, I've tried. Any ideas please?

What musical instrument ?

I've found that I only get the option to write songs when the instrument is not in the sim's inventory. Try placing it on the floor first.
