I like a rotation too, whether I set up a group from the beginning or play on short or even long and build up the rotation as I go but it also depends on what is on my mind to begin with or whether or not I think a specific moodlet matters. I have been into the sims since bustin o and into stories since sims 2. So personally I find them all to be similar in the story telling area something basic so everyone can decide what matters and what doesn't, it's a chill game not meant to be hard so you have the excuse to do what you want and of course rush things along by spamming actions instead of stopping them and waiting for when you think your sim should be done. So I throw all that out and focus on whatever happens. I used to play only on long but I have been playing on short and normal when wanting to move along more quickly but as I think of them more as actors or characters and not just sims it has the same effect. Now it looks like rambling so I'll say it's always what you make of it, some of my more enjoyable stories came from something as simple as a teen having a moodswing and setting up what is pushing them over the edge when I actually play them.
