How do you delete a basement?

You have to click on the room, like you would if you were expanding it, and hit the delete key on your keyboard

I tried pressing the delete key on my Mac with the basement selected, but the basement never goes away. :(

I just grab the room and move it to sell bin, that seems to always work for me.
