I've had it turned off since they defaulted to that. When the game was new I relied on it for reward points now and then. Now we have so many aspirations that I just use those or go partway through them to get quick points. I never really used whims to direct my sims before unless I felt it was their personality to do what popped up.
I don't really care if they update it and I certainly don't want it to turn into a positive/negative point thing like wants and fears. I don't want the game telling me how to play unless I have a choice to ignore it without ramifications.
