@BatmanFanGirl Logic and Fitness are relatively "easy" to build up. Just alternate between the two and have a variety of ways to gain the skills. Some are loner ones like games on the computer that also satisfy "fun", but not "social" needs like playing chess. And if you have other household Sims who can do the mundane stuff like clean toilets, do the cooking, take out the trash, etc LOL! That's a big help. Then for the one you're focusing on, other than constantly having to pee, shower/bathe, sleep, eat, do fun stuff, it won't take too long.
Personally, I was turned off on the constant grind of that stuff from the fist SIMs game. I bought SIMs 4 when I saw there was mods and cheats to help accelerate the game. With the cheats, (done reasonably), I find I can reduce the irritating grind parts and focus on the more enjoyable parts. For example, hardlyhungry and neverweary are the two cheats I end up using the most on characters I want to build. :) I did use the steelbladder also on my guy I wanted to be an astronaut. I got sick and tiered of having to send him to the toilet over and over and over... while he's trying to build a rocketship.
As for gardening, I'm starting to finally work on that at one household. So, not sure on that one yet.
