How Do You Have Fun in The Sims 4?

I try to vary my game play -- sometimes I'll do a single Sim, sometimes I start with a couple. One of my favorites is to take a single teen, move them into an apartment then see if they can get through school before they run out of the starting 20K; they'll pick up extra money scouring for collectibles and such (sometimes I'll start them out with the Curator aspiration). I also tend to have multiple played households in my save; if I get bored with one I'll go play another for a bit. Main save I have the current generation of the O'Dourke household, then I have a son who is living with his wife and dog in Windenburg and working on his music career, and a daughter in Willow Creek who married an alien and they're raising their first child.
