- netney525 years agoSeasoned AceI don’t think my gameplay style is what other people like. I’ve always played my simself and mundane aspects of life but with the twist of the perfect spouse and children etc. I’ve played this way since sims 1 and hate all other play styles. Although I don’t use anyone in real life other than me all my other sims are just sims and not based on real people. After a few years of reading these forums I actually wouldn’t recommend the way I play as I think a lot of other simmers would find it incredibly boring.
 - I think I'd find it weird to play a sim version of myself, if for no other reason than I'd have to watch myself age rapidly and careen towards death. I'm already watching myself age too rapidly irl...
 - mingussssss5 years agoNew SpectatorI honestly just get very attached to my sims. I play a small (compared to @Simmerville lol) set of households in rotation with a very very long lifespan - no rules, just whatever household I feel like playing. And I have a huge temptation of making my favourite sim immortal somehow because I don't want her to die ever, she's too cool
I keep a running list of how existing story lines could progess, new stories or just aspects of gameplay I have never explored and I always check it out every time I sit down to play.
And only recently I have started to think of gameplay rules to make the sims world a bit more realistic and that's also an added challenge that makes gameplay more interesting. - Kimmer_one5 years agoSeasoned AceI have about 50 different saves that I play rotationally. I never usually get bored because every save is different. If I do get bored I just change to another save.

I focus a lot on community matters. I have a working Council, and 5 years elections, even political parties (not played very detailed though - but I made a system involving the N.A.P.s. I also have nobility and 225 year of history for most of those families. On my website I have a profile page for all my 300-400 sims, all connected through a huge interactive family tree. I probably could have listed few more aspects, but main point is that I can play in so many different ways, it will never get boring. Whenever I need a serious break, I can work on builds or historical portraits, to fill some of those gaps. And if I want to close the game completely, I can add features to the script for my site/blog. In a way it has become way more than a game :)
I have to thank you for sharing your playstyle. I've tried to play in rotation because some time ago i read your experience about playing the game more centered in a community than in a family or a sim. I was blocked, playing legacies and getting bored too often. It has changed the game for me. I now honestly think that we get the most out of sims 4 playing in rotation.
Exactly the same. I didn't know what I was missing till I learned how to play rotational! It took my gameplay to a new level and I never get bored. Plus as a story teller I can make it more like a movie or a novel all coming together through each households story.
And with the easy to manage household feature and ability to swap sims I love it!!
Rotational and pose player keeps it fresh and entertaining for me! - Babykittyjade5 years agoSeasoned Ace

My game is just a massive soap opera ?, scandals, deaths, cheats, vampires, witches and aliens, I created a serial killer sim that killed rich old men for their mansion and riches lol
????? - Babykittyjade5 years agoSeasoned Ace@mingusssss really love that! Very similar to how I play. My main sims are enternal. I could never let them die and I feel attached with them. ?And I keep my rotation fairly small
 - KatAnubis5 years agoSeasoned AceMostly I enjoy playing my one main family (on "long life"). I keep them fresh by switching out aspirations and careers. And new SP/GP/EPs often help too (as now there are even more things for them to try.)
However, sometimes I get the urge to do something else. I'll do a "legacy challenge" or a "rags to riches challenge." Or I'll go on a building bender. Or I do a "no custom content family" to make sure that a new update isn't going to cause problems.
And then sometimes I just take a break. Right now I'm on a break waiting for the new update to require that once again I have to update all my mods. (I don't blame EA for this happening. I just accept that it does because EA can't test all the creator's mods but they *need* to change things that sometimes mess up the mods.) I have a "date" with my godson every Tuesday night and every other weekend to play Minecraft with him (in a Realm, with discord so that we can talk to each other while we play.) We just started a "new environment" so I've actually been playing between our games (which is the *only* time he can play because he doesn't have constant computer access.) I'm trying to get our place set up so that it's not so frustrating for him. (He's only in 3rd grade, so he hasn't developed some of the "how to handle frustration" techniques.) - permanentrose5375 years agoSeasoned Ace

Honestly though I would probably go out more often on the game if I didn't have loading screens between lots. I miss the open maps
Yeah every time a sim invites my sim to do something or go somewhere, I usually decline since I'm not in the mood for a loading screen - HaneulFier5 years agoSeasoned Ace

One of the things that keeps the game entertaining for me is having my sims constantly travel. The loading screen only lasts a few seconds at most? Is it the time it takes to load or something else that makes you dislike them. It's almost instant for me. I rarely (if ever) get more than one tip when loading.
