How do you make your big houses playable?
I've asked in the past about what to void of build elements to limit lag on larger lots, so that's not what I'm asking now. I just would like to know how big mansions/castles you actually play without...

No idea. I am just thinking that maybe only the section needed is loaded into the pc at one time. In one house I had troubles having sims moving laundry from the basement to the washer at third floor, meaning a washer and a dryer were added to the basement.
The home was the Straud family at Forgotten Hollow in Sims 4 on PC.
The cooking facilities on top floors might be just an ice cream maker and places to put and eat the ice cream. Bathrooms at each floor might be needed, too. Several stairs might be needed to avoid chaos.
If it's a really big building it makes sense to have several staircases so sims can move quickly around the building. Same with doors, they need to be placed in such a way as to not force the sim to go around the whole building in order to reach a certain room. I add bathrooms on each floor, even in small houses, because it's faster that having them move up and down between floors.
