And you can plant some on community lots, too. Perhaps catnips or flowers would look better than potato, though.
I tend to grow a limited amount per household. Often I specialize on certain crops per house (or per district), and often they will grow so and so because hey need that crop for making so and so. I sell what I don't need to the Goldburg(?) shop, I placed it in other worlds tan just Henford, though. Sims in need of as much money as possible will sell during the farmers market at Finchwick. In my fridge I try not to keep more than 10 per specie, I realized I will never need more for cooking, canning or whatever.
I really wish there would be a system for packing say 5 or 10 items in crates, that could be stored or sold in bulk. Put your hand in the air if you normally go to the grocery store to buy just 1 onion! Or who buys just 1 egg? I'd gladly buy 5 or 10 at the time. I like that the grocery stand has a limitation, but at least for the sales tables it would make more sense selling crates. I used such a CC system in TS2, it was brilliantly made and made my farming community so much more realistic.
