Depending on your playstyle, how do you organise your in game screenshots? In my current save, i start a new folder at the start of each new sim year then I move all the screenshots from the main folder in to a new folder labelled with the year that they were taken in. Currently I'm up to 1997 in my current save and i have in total 5,909 screenshots since playing this save.
My screenshots are all on Imgur. When I take a screenshot I'll upload to Imgur the few I want to post and delete the rest. So at any given time my screenshots folder is usually empty.
I usually move all screenshots to my external drive, by save. I rarely sort by household as well, unless there are a minimum of 5 shots. Some times, when I want to share a shot, I upload to Imgur.
I periodically throw mine into a separate Sims SShots folder. I convert them to JPGs to save a bit of space too. I don't really take many screenshots to be honest.
By gamesave number and under that by household. This is in own folder so not influenced by anything in the game one. Microsoft notwithstanding, am still able to use the discovered method of numbering each shot and then providing captions if wanted so have a separate story for each sim household.
When I start a new game and start taking pictures, I will create a new folder in a separate screenshots folder for whichever Sims game that I play. I try not to take too many pictures when playing the game in one session so I don't have too many to upload to imgur or change the name of the file. I'm not too crazy about the way that screenshots are named compared to TS3, so they get renamed as 1, 2, 3, etc, etc and then placed in sub-folders inside the folder for the new save. Sometimes the sub-folders names will be labeled as Pt. 1, Pt. 2, etc or as Week 1, Week 2. But lately, I've been naming them as Day 1, Day 2 and so forth so that they don't get over bloated and it's easy to tell when one day ends and another day starts. Then after I have rename the pictures and move them to the appropriate folder/s, then I will delete the photos from the screenshots folder so that it'll be ready for more picture taking...☺️
I did a lot of organizing, backing up, etc., until I finally realized that I never, ever look at my Screenshots again after I post a fave or two online. Now they just go in Recycling now and then.
I only have things related to stories I am working on atm/might be worked on soon TM but each household/story gets a folder like so
Bug folder is for when I encounter bugs that I might want to report I empty it every now and then when I've reported the buggies

and if theres something to categorize I will have sub folders like so

* tactically crops pictures as to not throw in major spoilers* there is more folders that shall not be named and screens that shall not be shown in those folders do not worry
the profile folder has all the full pictures and then when you go in P folder it has the square pictures I actually use as profile picture
mostly categorized by seasons if I feel they give off a vibe for specific season https://i.imgur.com/722hnDP.png and then in those I have the different themes like ''halloween'' or the most recent one thats just ''yeehaw'' inside summer
not sorted has all the stuff I am not working on atm but will eventually continue working on/ screenshots I like to keep that were not part of a story or simmingal mayhem/ just random screenshots I keep for reason or another

This, I was wondering the same today.. with amount of pics I have, would free lots of space in puter :)
I keep them sorted in folders for a story until I'm sure I'm done telling that story and won't need them for flashbacks etc. Then I delete them. If I'm playing a save I don't plan to storytell about, I take very few or no screenshots.
I used to keep them sorted by residential lot. Then I just had them sorted by the played simyear, with no subfolders. Couple years ago I realized that I took way more screenshots than I ever will use for anything in the future, so I started making short videos of them, and deleting the pictures afterwards. In the beginning the vids were themed, but currently I just smoch together a random set per episode. In the videos I normally add a short text description to help me recall names, addresses and situations etc. I've created 81 vids this far, and am currently 1 sim year behind schedule :) They are all available on my youtube account, meaning I can watch them wherever I am in Real World.
