I play families on rotation. For a while I had aging on for all households and I was hoping to see some story progression (I didn’t realize that wasn’t built into the game anymore)- like married couples having babies on their own, having a new romantic interest or a couple falling out with each other perhaps. Was hoping to see a sim promoted if I left them with the right qualifications for one. That didn’t happen, the most I’d see is a new enemy in their friends panel. It just aged them unnecessarily. So I turned off aging for the inactive households that I play.
From what I have read about MCCC, that’s MUCH more story progression than I am looking for. And I get enough notifications as it is, I don’t care to have any more.
I have been thinking about doing a die roll before I play a family - for instance, if I roll a 1, I might have someone start an affair. Maybe 2 would be to have another baby. Lots of possibilities there to help shake things up. Maybe try setting up something like that.
Turns out you can pretty much pick and choose what you want, and also it looks like most options also have values you can change so... tweaking the odds of things happening. I'm loving this!
Are you trying it? It took me a few tries to get to the percentages that make sense for what I want in my game. But it is worthwhile when you get there. Happy mcccing
