I've started taking note of the household's funds when I leave them, because the funds do change A LOT while I'm playing other households. I hate that a poor family got §50.000 the next time I play them etc. I suspect there is a money bug where royalties (writers etc), bills (services like butlers) and even retirement wages, still perform in nonplayed houses.
They might also build a few skills, but I never found that a problem as it seems to relate to their favorite skills/activities.
For aging - I play with aging off, then I follow the calendar/seasons, turning aging on for absolutely everyone just on New Years Eve. It makes everyone add 1 year to their age. I'm free to skip the aging whenever I like, say after installing a new pack, I might like to check out new features without paying attention to my entire rotation. So I might play a "bonus year" with no aging.
