How does uploading to the gallery REALLY work?

I thought I would upload all my important lots and sims to the gallery, for safe keeping, because my game no longer supports tray file downloads( another problem). But when I go to download a lot, it ...

Hello
When you download a lot from the community section of the galley into your library, the files then go into your tray files. The files are placed into your tray folder by the game.
If you are wanting to add a build from an external website, then you need to place the files in your tray folder for them to appear in your library.
