I dont know if it was the money Tree or running the cool temp on thermostat but I got a bill for 100k :(
Wow! How much were your bills before? The highest bills I ever had were around 26,000, justified because that mansion is huge, but if the thermostat alone produces even higher bills than a huge lot full of all kinds of stuff, I smell yet another ill-conceived feature that will need attention in a future patch...
I can't really speak from my own experience because I've played through two weeks of summer without ever actually needing the thermostat yet; my sims only complained when I left them outside for too long. But then again, the family I played lives on the island in Windenburg, maybe summers just aren't that extreme there. - It could be because of the thermostat. I don't have seasons so thats why its the same.
- sheronparrisNew SpectatorSomething another Simmer said here that I found helpful for my bills--only put the thermostat on for cold and hot weather and of course heatwaves. I've actually never even seen my sims react negatively or anything too hot or cold temperatures, but I put on the thermostat anyway and turned it off when they were just warm or cool. The pets seemed to care more about the heat that my sims did.
As it stands, the bills didn't jump too much, but I have a modestly sized house right now with a garden and pool. "paradiseplanet;c-16570249" wrote:
Won't the frugal trait work with the increased bills too? It really does save a lot of money especially with more sims in the house who have it.
Oh man I forgot about that I'll have to do that when I play later- LolaLuvsSimsRising RookieMine jumped a bit but I've only used the thermostat on days that it was freezing
- JeanVWRising NewcomerThe same, so far.
- pinneduphairNew SpectatorMine increased, but it seems like Brindleton Bay has a bit of a colder climate, so there were several Freezing days in winter. Didn't have any heatwaves in my first summer.
- Mine are around 6500 on a decent sized lot in BB. I try to be overly cautious so I only turn the thermostat on a few days per season. My sims are lottery winners so I'm worried about them blowing through their money.
- BlueSeaWavesSeasoned AceAt first I had it for 2 days on the setting that says will cost more and my bills went from 11k to around 40k+(forgot the exact number) and this time I had it on for a whole week to test it out also on the higher cost setting on a different lot and home and it came to 4K.
- Winifred_WillowNew SpectatorMy bills in several played households have increased but I expected it since they have the thermostats and extra stuff for holidays that I believe count towards what their monthly bills would amount to.
