- Ceridwen_ae4 years agoRising VeteranMy game was vanilla last year - though it was heavily modded before that, but that just made things drag, take an age to load and I'd rather things ran quicker than anything else, causing me to nix everything. Then I just found the windows and doors in some packs needed a bit more love to zhuzh up my builds, so have three of Peacemaker's add-on sets (the Seasons, Get Famous and Strangerville build mode add-ons). But that's it. I really don't want any more CC in there.
Though I see Peacemaker's Nifty Knitting-inspired build mode set and I'm having difficulty in resisting downloading it. - Tcee114 years agoSeasoned AceI use MCC, UI Cheats, bug fixes from LittleMsSam
- Mostly CC for me cuz there isn't suitable hair for my Simself in the vanilla game and I love going clothes "shopping" for my SIMs - also have some custom sofas and furnishings, including kitchen stuff that just appeared one day but it's really lovely so I kept it ??♀️
I use Wonderful Whims, just downloaded TOOL, have a handful of romantic interaction ones - pillow talk, slow dance, skygaze (cuz my Sims deserve romance, darn it) and I couldn't live without Pose Player in my game.
Playable Pets is also a must! - Duhgirl2u24 years agoSeasoned AceCurrently no mods. I typically play with CAS cc but not build/buy cc, but I haven't played with even that since Snowy Escape came out. Not sure why... I've just never re-enabled it.
- I use a lot of Mods and CC in my game and can't imagine playing without it anymore to be honest.
I've found that I've needed to add far more to TS4 than I ever did to TS2 & TS3 which I'd normally only add one or two mods and a small amount of CC. - NateWhiplash4 years agoSeasoned AceI have only one mod (for woohoo), and that's just for comedic purposes. Other than that, no mods
- PurrfectMediocre4 years agoSeasoned AceIs 50 mods a lot? :D
Edited to add that my mods folder has 5,881 files in 488 folders (sorted by creator and individual mods) for a total of 19GB in modded fun. That is after deleting my entire folder and starting over a couple weeks ago. :D - Sharooonia4 years agoSeasoned AceI have around eight of the bigger mods that make the game play better in my game currently...
- Alcohol by Basemental .
- Whim Overhaul - Bienchen.
- First Impressions by Lumpinou.
- MCCC by Deaderpool.
- Meaningful Stories by roBurky.
- NPC Control by Paulson.
- Personality Please by PolarBearSims.
- Wonderful Whims by Turbodriver.
I also have a whole ton of tuning and bug fixing mods for the many things that annoy me in this game. I wouldn't say it's drowning although with every new pack that is released the list grows and it's starting to get a little concerning. - GalacticGal4 years agoLegendTo date, I have nine gameplay mods in my game. We won't even talk about the cc, which is mostly 18th century clothing, accessories, hair and a few items of décor. The game is vastly enhanced by these mods, whereas I needed mods just to stabilize Sims3, even playing it on a gaming rig. MCCC; Road to Fame; Meaningful Stories; Memorable Events; Slice of Life; SNB & Bills; Mortem; Private Practice; and one that allows my ancestral family to have and milk a cow. (I need a farm pack, please!) The other cc is mostly harvestable crops beyond what the game gives us. In fact, I recently came across some rice. One of my 7th great-grandfathers was about the only one in the entire Shenandoah Valley who grew rice. :) Kudos to him, it was also rather lucrative.
- LiELF4 years agoLegendI tend to switch back and forth. Most of the time I play vanilla, because updates and patches are so frequent and increase the chances of breaking my game or corrupting my main save. I've been playing the same save file for years, with households imported from my original save file that was heavily modded with tons of CC. I gave the CC covered Sims vanilla makeovers and put them all in my vanilla save to sort of continue their stories. Many of them have had to meet each other again, but I was just happy to have them all in the world together. The biggest headache was replacing most of the lots from the Gallery, which I'm still not finished with, lol. There's so many worlds now that it's quite the task!
I do often miss my mods, especially when I get frustrated with the AI so I go through short phases where I stick a few in there for a while but that only lasts until the next EP patch and they come out again. I still collect certain types of CC (historic, fantasy, gothy, etc.) that are hard to find, and one day I'll put them in. The CAS has become so extensive these days that I find I don't need it as much, but there are some pieces that I just adore and really miss.
