Well maybe its EA/Maxis that shifted their focus away from occult gameplay in the Sims 4. Its their game and they do what sells and apparently that isnt some occult, fantasy stuff. Its representation, real life issues, create yourself and play with life.
Even if players complained it was still Maxis desicion to nerf everything down. There will always be players who will buy a pack for certain Items and complain, since Maxis doesnt really add toggles, options and fine tuning is rarely there unlike in the sims 3.
Just voice what you want from the sims team, since they are the ones making desicions at the end of the day.
But the occults would sell. We haven’t had one since 2019. There is a dire need in the occult community for some because we’ve been left out in the dry for so long. They could add a werewolf pack that makes you turn into a corgi and it would sell because how desperate people are at this point, which can be a good or bad thing.
I personally am a strong mixture of occult and realistic. I love family gameplay and my sims often have some more realistic circumstances in their life, but I play with occults a lot too (mainly vampires). we don’t get as much occult content and when we do, it’s watered down. It doesn’t have to be occult vs realism, but people won’t get their snotty entitlement in check (no, this is absolutely not referring to you or anyone in particular)
