When a new movie or TV-show premiers, the production will normally be advertised all over my worlds. I try to adjust the advertisements once every sim year, so it will mainly be the bigger events that get this extra attention, and not the short lived, or the ever lasting (TV news). A new Judith Ward movie will almost always get publicity. It's of course a big thing when a new Actor gets their face on a movie or concert poster for the first time.
Creating the poster makes it easy to also add the image to a CC version of the wazzup city board. It then comes into rotation on any such board object placed by me, but it also effects those objects already being placed on pavements/outside lots by EA (might be San Myshuno, only). In addition I have the posters on wall at the 8 Recreation Centers and outside misc venues where it might be natural hanging such posters. Pubs and bars will often welcome posters.
I was happy to see that the city living board object that is in the arrival area outside city flats, get its images from the same source as the wazzup board, meaning my custom posters will also be displayed outside the flats :)
I also have a custom version of the huge wall mounted city board, used for larger productions, only.
There are even more ways in my game for famous sims to get promoted. Saving some of this for when we get to the Musicians :)
