Seriously, how is one new career that's 90 percent buy mode a gamepack? It's insulting at this point. We've shown that they can add careers in stuff pack, and good ones at that. The ghost hunter f...
I'm wondering if they just didn't reveal all of the information about it, and it'll be disclosed in the livestream. Here's a breakdown of what previous Game Packs have offered:
Outdoor Retreat: New world New skill New traits New aspiration New social event New recipes New collectibles/harvestables Vacation mechanic
Spa Day: New venue type New skill (Wellness - manifested through reading, new meditation activity, new yoga activity) New recipes New collectibles New death
Dine Out: New venue type + mechanics for owning/customizing/running individual restaurants New recipes/drinks New collectibles
Vampires: New life state (with skill tree) New world New skills New aspirations New traits New lot traits New collectibles/harvestables New recipes/drinks New death
Parenthood: New aspirations New traits Character value mechanic Phase/mood swing mechanic New skill New relationship types New recipes
Jungle Adventure: New world + mechanics for exploring the jungle/temples New aspirations New traits New skills New recipes/drinks New death New lot trait New collectibles/harvestables Vacation mechanic (new if OR isn't owned)
StrangerVille: New world + mechanic for experiencing the StrangerVille Mystery storyline New aspiration New traits New collectible New career New death
Realm of Magic: New life state + with skill tree + personal spellbook mechanic New aspiration New traits New skill New death New world New collectible/harvestables
Star Wars Journey to Batuu: New world + mechanic for experiencing the Batuu storyline New aspirations New traits Vacation mechanic (new if OR and JA not owned) New recipes/drinks New collectibles
This doesn't include all of the CAS and B/B these packs add, nor things like new music stations, new club activities/requirements, the new lot size (64x64) first introduced by JA, the laptop introduced by SV, and all of the little nuances that comes in each pack.
With all of that being said, here's what we know about Dream Home Decorator:
New active career (mechanic for interactive B/B mode) New mechanic for modular sofas
Unconfirmed but highly likely: New aspiration(s) New trait(s)
Possible: New skill(s) New lot trait(s)
I'm very interested to know which of the usual suspects of new additions might also be in the pack. It doesn't seem like it would offer new collectibles/harvestables, recipes, or death. So maybe a new world?
Even still, that would bring the list to something like: New career New aspirations New traits New skills New world New lot traits Modular sofa mechanic
Which, when comparing other packs, it still seems a bit light. Idk! The emphasis on the career mechanic makes it feel most comparable to Dine Out to me, in that the emphasis is on the mechanic of a career. And we see with DO, there are not a lot of other new additions when compared to the other GPs. So, I guess it makes sense that this pack could be so small.
But at the same time, it feels like Stuff Packs are getting bigger, so you'd think GPs would too?
