How many babies does your Sim have and why?

It varies by generation. My founding sim of my current save had 9, and to keep the population from exploding too fast I limited them to 1-2 each. I'm thinking of letting the next generation have 2-4.
In my original legacy-like save it was usually 3, with one generation that had 7 and the most recent just 1.
