How many challenges do you play at once?

Question

For those who play challenges like legacy, random, and so on, do you do one at a time (finish one beofre starting another), or do you have multiple going alongside each other?

I'm doing a legacy challenge, but it gets boring at times when there's little more to do than wait for someone to age up. I'm seven generations in so far. I've been thinking about starting a new challenge, but that seems like I'll just fall into a trap of a bunch of unfinished stories (I know it's a game, but I really don't like to have a dozen saves).

I do several at a time but I do have them in different saves. Some have different aging and other setting rules so I cant do them in the same save. I do like challenges but sometimes the restrictions do get boring or repetitive so I do need variety. I have one challenge free save which I rotate around in whenever boredom hits.

I generally will do a legacy challenege as the ultimate challenge and then when I get bored add in another challenge for a generation or generations. For instance, if I'm on generation 5 and bored I might make that generation a random legacy challenge and then next gen. do the black widow challenge. Yes, it makes it longer, but...it keeps it interesting.

I am playing 100 baby, the disney legacy and Not so berry right now. I play them rotationally with other stories I like.

I usually play one, and finish it. Then I either continue playing the challenge-sim, or I go back to one of my other families.
