How Many Households?

I play with 11 different households under 1 save file, and as of now, it's still manageable considering that I can still keeping all the notes for each of the household. You guys are amazing! How do you guys managing more than 100 households? I think it will break me first before my Mac. :s

I play with only one family and i find that too much :tongue: I end up focusing only in the heir and letting the others with full autonomy. I do give them jobs and take care of them once in a while. I don't know how i would remember what is going on with more than 1 household. My memory is terrible.

Wow... And here I was under the illusion that my 57 households were a lot. :D

@JC1979 I guess I never thought of it taking months but I suppose it must do. But it would certainly keep me busy in my game for a long time if I can do it (I usually suffer from restartitis so no idea how I will do with this).
@Simmerville I would love to see your spreadsheet! I bet it is so in-depth, just the sound of it amazes me!
@SimAlexandria I can imagine that happening to me - just end up playing faves.
@GrumpyGlowfish 57 is a lot! I have only ever played 7 at the most before now lol.

I was calculating just how long a rotation would be... considering a sim year on 28 day seasons is only 112 days long, a full rotation couldn't even be done in a year, even if each house was only played for a day lol.

How long do you peeps usually play one house for? A sim week maybe? I used to play my rotation of 7 households for 4 sim days, which meant I could fit every household in per season. But I'm not sure whether to have a set time for each or just go with how I'm enjoying each one. I plan to have ageing on for active household only.

It varies a lot how long I play each house. Anything from a sim week to a couple of years, depends how much I enjoy that house and what's happening in their lives. I really couldn't do a regular schedule. Even though most sims seem mostly the same, some are more enjoyable to me than others. If I find I'm not enjoying my time in a house, I'd give them a long break or just take them out of the rotation all together.

I thought was a lot! I plan on starting an all premades save as soon as I get some other things worked out, so I'll probably end up with close to that many at some point.

I used to play 4 day rotations, but eventually changed to 7 day. The primary reason for the change was so my actor sim could do two gigs back to back each time to build up his fame. It's also been helpful for making progress in the Strangerville storyline. Otherwise I quite liked four.

I don't put myself on a particular set-up for rotation, and I have noticed the times I have the most fun are when I play a household until a certain "event" is done. For example, right now I'm playing out a teen drama story where one of them started dating a boy that two other teen girls from different households are into. I'm going to play out how the other girls react to the breaking news and it will probably end mildly violent. :*

I'd say one of the most rewarding things about playing many households is that I get to progress the world in the way I want it to progress. Even though it did take a very long time to get a story going with everyone I care about.

I usually play each sim household for 3 sim days, seasons on long, custom life span to be extremely long (4-5x normal lifespan and often pause aging all together for awhile)

When I was doing it with more households before I turned aging off for all households and then when I played the final home in my rotation I'd turn it on for all households so that by the time I got back to the first one, all households had aged what I'd played them for.
