HOLY SmOKES how do ya'll keep up with that many?? i only ever have like 3 to 4, maybe 5 if i'm feeling ambitious
I'm thinking they are asking about ALL Sims in your game, not only played Sims.
huh. that makes sense. i guess i got confused because op has townies in their "my households" tab-- which in my opinion means they're no longer townies, but to each their own- elelunicy7 years agoSeasoned Ace

Townies used to only mean Sims you see around the town, but they don't actually live anywhere (i.e. homeless Sims). Pre-made Sims that do live in a house wouldn't be townies. The term started with TS1: Hot Date after all. In that pack, the new Sims you met at downtown all had the last name "Townie", and they definitely didn't have any place to live. - I think right now it's about 14. Most of the sims are under "other". I don't think I've ever had that much more. I don't save randomers and I only play one family. I remember when this feature came I thought it was gonna be automatic or somthing so I just kpt playing thinking all the sims in my game were saved.
I only have some saved now as I don't want my sims' friends being culled out of the blue.
Just weirdly large numbers you have on the poll. - elelunicy7 years agoSeasoned Ace

The population in my save is just 600 because I don't have any Sims under the "Other Households" tab. For everyone else you need count Sims under both tabs :D

The game generates so many Sims on its own. Pretty much nobody should have voted "Under 50" unless they use mods that stop all forms of random Sim generations. "elelunicy;c-17152184" wrote:
You must have misworded this whole thing cause the majority of answers say under 50."Simpkin;c-17152174" wrote:

As for the question everyone has actually been answering this entire time, I currently have roughly 145 played sims split into 40 households, but voted 150 to 199 because I already have more families planned for when I get Island Living. Among my played sims are only twelve premades (the Goths, the Landgraabs, the three vampires, Travis Scott and Max Villareal), so if unplayed premades are also supposed to count, it's probably around 200. (Or maybe not, I actually have no idea how many premades this game has across all expansions and am too lazy to count.) - Not sure if you're asking about played sims or unplayed and played combined. I have about 85 played sims in my rotation, I don't know about others.
- annaliese397 years agoSeasoned AceWell, I only have 4 sims in my households, but I have just over 100 in other households. I typically play one family per save you see. I actually have more sims under my households in my second save right now, but even then only 12 in total (and only 4 of these are part of my main family). I have plans for the family in my second save to grow and grow, but this will take time.
- amp1077 years agoRising VeteranI answered under 50 because I didn’t understand the way you intended the question. My played sim count (the one that matters) is at 46. I like it to stay under 50 because it starts to act wonky the more sims I add. I have no idea how many townies there are in my game because they don’t count against my sim count so I never check on them, unless one annoys my and I need to delete them.
- Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceI don't have a main save but my largest save is still well under 50 (36 sims) for my households. Yes, I just read what you said by the ways but had voted before learning all the twists and turns :p
In my Stardew Valley save I added in the premades I hadn't deleted (including the wandering ones) and it brought it up to about 70. Since I was there I deleted about 56 spawned sims that I don't care about and delete when I think about it just for maintenance.
So total (other than sims I can't see at all ) and adding in a very generous dollop I doubt I ever go much over 200 sims even if I'm lax with the clean up. I guess as new packs come in that number might rise.
