I usually save once an hour when playing, but after hurricane milton went through here and our power went out (and keeps going out few times a day) I've started saving every five min lol.
What's your worst memory of forgetting to save and game either crashes or power goes out?
Although I can't remember a specific time I'm sure it has happened.
I usually save every 15 minutes or so. Also after any big events like promotions and skill gains.
I usually save every 3 sim hours or after i finish a room …. one time I completed an entire basement, and forgot to save. Instead I went to live mode to direct a sim to an object, and the game crashed...
Another time i forgot to save was during a flash food warning. It didn't seem that windy outside so I just played the sims for about a half hr. without saving. That was a mistake, lights in my house flickered and I lost power.
It didn't take long after that, that I realized how important it is to save =D
It's happened so many times. I don't remember any one time in particular. I save after anything important happens and I try to remember to save at least once an hour. Key word try. I'm really scatterbrained.😄
I try to save about every hour but its probably more on the 2 hour mark that I save.. Then I have a tendency to save immediately after cause I don't remember if I just saved or not 😂 Thankfully my game rarely crashes so I dont have to save often. There are other games I save about every 15 mins because I can't lose progress but not in sims.
Depends on how much happened in my game. Some sessions feel important, others not so much. Any achievement will be saved, while everyday simming might not be saved until I quit the session. When I build I normally save every hour, building something difficult or adding lots f clutter I might save every 30 minutes.
Thinking back, over these 10 years with TS4 I might have lost progress max 10 times, but only a couple times it was very frustrating.
I only save in my main save every 2 hours.
The game runs very smooth in general (for me) considering the numerous bugs that are in several EP's that EA has sold.
I lost progress with this last update however I was able to load a save from 3 months ago that I can work/play with to keep my gameplay up to date.
I save everytime I leave cas or build mode, also when I traveled between lots or households. If I'm playing for an extended period of time I also save anytime I have to step away.
I save a few times, maybe every 2 or 3 hours or so, but usually after certain gameplay progress or if I need to step away from the computer for a bit. In general I am not too stressed about saving, as I play on a laptop, so there will be some battery power available in case of some unexpected power cuts.
I usually save about every 30 minutes, more when I'm building. I also go into Manage Worlds, and that tends to save it really well, then I go back in. In the past I've had many times it didn't save & sometimes it's because it's buffering & only way to get out of that is to Control, Alt, Delete. Sometimes that happens when trying to download something from the gallery & it just won't download, once again it just buffers, & I have to Control, Alt, Delete. Which can also mean you lose what you were working on. So going into manage worlds & saving on the regular, helps.
Interesting question. I have lost progress occasionally because of crashes so I try to save regularly. Saving doesn't depend on actual time but more on in game time or accomplishments. I try to save when my sims completed a certain goal, had something (random) happen that I want to keep or when I finish a step in building, for example a room. I think on average I save about once every sim day when I play in live mode.
