- Suziish7 years agoSeasoned AceI'm honestly somewhere between What I picked and The More the Better! But, I have seen too much clutter in houses and that is too much for me. I just have massive images of hoarder episodes when I think "Never too much clutter!" So, I love clutter. I use it a lot, but... there is too much clutter.
- I like my clutter to look realistic. So things like desks/dressers often have a lot of clutter on them but I tend not to use clutter anywhere else. I also try to limit the use of MOO, because too much clutter with too much MOO, causes some serious lag for me.

If they're not cluttered and messy, they just look like generic hotel rooms to me.
They have no character. I like my homes to be lived in.
I'm right there with you @DreamaDove. Houses without clutter just feel too sterile and impersonal. In IRL I have a hard time trusting people who have magazine-ready minimalistic homes because it just doesn't feel real."ChelleJo;c-16850733" wrote:

I do that too - if I see pics of a lot of clutter I instantly wonder if the people are hoarders. It makes me uncomfortable and wondering about what else is on all that clutter. Makes me stand a little distant away."DreamaDove;c-16850592" wrote:

Definitely looks lived in - no question about that."calaprfy;c-16850777" wrote:
Absolutely none. I like the negative moodlets to shine so I can solve them.
Actually I added a plant on the floor, a fruit bowl to the coffee table and one picture my sims painted on the wall and got a nice decorated buff on my sim - so it does not take much to get a buff.- ladybreid7 years agoSeasoned Ace

I could never step foot in this house - in real life - not that I would anyway - but - just no. I would never make a sims house like that. for my sims anyway. Definitely looks lived in - no question about that.
You can have clutter and still have a clean home, you just need to clean. "BridgetKV;c-16850760" wrote:

Another great thing to do to make homes look natural is not set anything exactly aligned with the grid. I use alt to shift furniture over a little and turn it ever so slightly and it makes a world of difference. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have a way to know if all my furniture at my RL home is exactly aligned, and if it were, I'd find that kinda strange."Writin_Reg;c-16850808" wrote:

I'm not a particularly neat person RL, so there's no way I'd make my simself be either. I keep things clean and organized, but I don't go out of my way to hide things away. RL I collect dolls so I have those in display all around. I also have tons of books and art supplies. I go through them pretty quick, too.
when I see minimalist room aesthetics I'm just like... where's... your stuff... They don't make sense to me.Do they hide away every thing they own?
I certainly feel strange and unwelcome in houses that are TOO neat and coordinated. It's like, what are they? robots? Is this a test? Should I sit on the couch or will they yell at me? (I went to a relative's home were the couches were basically there just to be shown off as they were expensive and no one was allowed to sit... very weird)
When I visit homes that are kinda cluttered kinda messy (not dirty), I'm like, alright, this is a Real™ person with a life and problems like the rest of us and they're not going to immediately yell at me if I forget to use a coaster.- I have always considered the house to be a big part of my sims story. I usually start off a family with very little. As my sims experiences grow I like the house to reflect that. I usually have some clutter but I like it to mean something about my sims. When I download a house the first thing I do is remove all the clutter and sometimes the furniture. That way my sim can add to it a little bit at a time and build their story and their home at the same time.
