How much have the Infant updates actually helped you?

The newborn and infant care is improved for me.  When one adult has queued baby care actions, the other adults don't interrupt.  They may stand and watch, which is fine.  Before updates Mom would put the baby to bed then Dad would pick the baby up and started a crazy cycle of competing care.  Thankfully, I have not had that recently. 

Infant / Toddler autonomous actions still override Player's actions.  Needs work.
Infant autonomously fussy because of low needs.  Sim adult actions must wait for the infant fuss to stop before they can give care.  Player can try to cancel the infant's autonomous action as a workaround.   
Player actions should override autonomy, overall.  My opinion. 

Toddlers - When Player directs adult to Play, read to child or teach Flash cards, there is an animation of the sim asking the toddler if they want to do the action.  In that scenario it makes sense. 
That "Ask Animation" does NOT make sense when it comes to Baby Care, like giving a bath, feeding, changing a diaper, etc.  Baby has dirty diaper, change baby - The End.  No asking needed.  Baby can still refuse the bottle or food per their traits.  But the extra step of Ask, Wait for response before caregiving is unreal and irritating.    

Really agree with you there. Player actions should override what an Infant is doing.

And yeah asking if they want a clean super is kinda silly 🤦‍♀️ 

I really don't know quite yet. My young married couple still have to finish getting their college degrees before they start their family. My own storyline is getting in my way. 🙃

Oh, man infants has been my favorite life stage. Don't tell me they broke it.

I don't know about unreal.  I mean, I did just tell my kid when it was bath time or when they needed a diaper change rather than asking if they wanted one, but at the same time, I didn't just pick them up and plop them in the bath or on the changing table without saying anything either, giving them the opportunity to voice an opinion on the matter.  And believe me, toddlers have opinions on such things.

 While I was relatively lucky and my kid was pretty easy going, I am aware of parents who had to chase defiant toddlers down who didn't want a bath or a diaper change (or to get dressed after)  And I'd rather have the ask interaction than having my sim try to chase down a naked toddler running down the hall.  Though that would be funny, I'd rather they spent the money on fixing animations that are actually broken than making new ones.

I am glad to be a parent in real life.  I have experienced a toddler who didn't want a bath only to enjoy the bath minutes later.  lol  Of course I spoke and laughed with my child thru the day. And, there were many diapers changed quickly in every mood. 
Basic care and safety are not up for debate.  Toddlers don't get to choose to sit around in a dirty diaper.  
There are many ways for toddlers to make choices with snacks, toys, colors and so forth. 
In real life, yes I've scooped up a baby or toddler, smiled and said "Let's get you cleaned up!"  

In the game, the Ask and Wait for Toddler Response is highly repetitive. 
I suggest removing Ask and Wait from Basic Care - bath, changing diaper, putting in highchair / giving food.
The Ask and Wait for toddler animation would not change for play, flash cards, read a book, potty train, etc. All those choices in Friendly >Activities. There are plenty of opportunities for Toddler Sims to be defiant and cute.    

For me, newborn and infant care are improved since the Devs asked for player feedback and made changes.  I forget which update.  I made 2 suggestions about toddlers.  😄

I agree about asking animation... Maybe if it was fast but the toddler always wants to first route somewhere to sit (sooo sloow) then be asked, and then get up (soo sloow) to be picked up. It's just frustrating. 

A little. Adults take turns better, and there is not that much simultaneous "check infant" interactions. 

But it's still not smooth overall. I noticed adults want autonomously put the infant to the crib more and you can't cancell the action. So better hope the crib is near, otherwise you have to just watch your Sim route to the crib even if you really wanted to do something else with your infant on the other side of the house. Also some interactions like practice sitting wouldn't start if the adult was standing with an infant, I had to first put them down and then try the interaction again. 

For some reason adults want to "watch" the toddler a lot more than previously and drop their que to do that.

Overall, the experience has improved for me. The actions are interrupted to a lesser extent, which is a refreshing change. Before the new updates, some parent Sims were stuck in a loop of holding the baby, putting it down, then picking it up again, and finally feeding it. The sequence was getting a bit frustrating at times. As a family-based Simmer, I think this aspect of the game has definitely been enhanced.
