I like a combination of occult gameplay mixed with regular family gameplay. Nearly every family has a spellcaster, mermaid or alien but I love giving them a family and a job, in short a normal every day life. They all have to do every day stuff like doing laundry, earning money to pay the bills, graduate at uni... . Sometimes my sims are totally focused on unrealistic things like brewing potions or going to sixam but the other half of the time I barely use their special perks or powers and just play out their every day lives. In my mind their occult nature is part of their identity, a way to spice up the everyday mundain life.
