I don't even know.. Anything Goes? That or unrealistic fiction or semi-realistic fiction.
It doesn't bother me at all that sims don't age or they drink a potion and boom everything is all right... or not and they are suddenly on the ground snoozing. I'll world hop without being bothered about distance perceived at all. They can die and go on happily as ghosts or get resurrected like it's just par for the course.
I find it frustrating to try to play realistically. I also get bored pretty quick if I do a day to day real life grind (job, family, better home, raise kids).
My sims often move around and often learn things that make no sense ... Such as.. this is my rocket scientist, master baker, musical genius (and on and on) that has fathered 20 kids with different women (and a couple men) despite being a young adult... oh and he recently decided to become a spellcaster.
Although on the flip side I do have a number of saves where my characters are limited to what I think of as their personality and traits and will mostly only develop skills to match. But they are still over the top fictional usually.. like I'll have Seymour Krelborn (Little Shop of Horrors). That will learn everything about gardening, be a good singer and a decent cook but never change jobs... thing is I have to flip through all the characters in saves like that to get my grins because just doing certain things on that sim (family) only can become boring. Even if I'm maneuvering to have cowplants eat other sims or finding ways to kill off "bad guys" while doing it.
I do want that real life background for my sims to spring from either way. Like I wouldn't want them living in a pink world with no gravity (at least not most of the time if it were available). They still need some sort of realistic world to play from.
