How to convince parents getting you Get Together for Christmas?

Just tell her that you would like GT as an early xmas present and see what she says.

Try putting nothing else on your Christmas list.

Positive messages/education include:

• Setting and reinforcement of rules - Don't follow the rules and are punished/kicked out. Follow the rules you are eventually rewarded.
  
• Actions and reactions - How do people respond to a group of mean sims or practical jokers? Do these bad vibes and relationships you created follow you to your own life outside of the club when you don't have backup? Is it different if you are well behaved when with your group of friends?
  
• Confrontational situation management - Another club is fighting your club every time you go out... How do you choose to handle it? (Get tough enough to defend yourself? Move to another hangout? Befriend the leader and get them to change the rules? Infiltrate and stage a coup?) And what is the result?
  

Do you have relatives that give you money for Christmas, or gift cards? Do you have any way of earning the money for yourself? If you can earn half the price of the game on your own, maybe you can persuade your mother to give you the other half so you can buy the game for yourself.

And also, what does your mother think about The Sims game? That's what you need to be concerned about. If you can convince her that the game is positive and harmless, then you should have no problem...especially if you just come right out and tell her that's what you would like for Christmas.

I'm a disabled adult, and my parents don't mind that I play The Sims because it can teach you about life. Your Sim has to gain skills to advance in their job and survive, raise a family, keep up their home, make friends, and pay their bills responsibly. In Get Together they have a lot of social interactions and with the Club system, that adds a new dynamic of following the rules to stay in, etc. :)

The best thing I can think of is get your mom interested in playing the sims too.... Lol. Or have her watch you play sometime, and let her know how excited you are for the new expansion coming out, and how much u want play it. How it adds to what you have. How do you usually get your parents to buy you what you are wanting?

I like this. Sims is creative: it's a tool for storytelling.

Getting your homework done and bringing your grades up is a good start, as well as helping out more around the house.

You could tell her as others have pointed out, this is a good EP to teach you how to deal with opposing forces. Whether you make Sims behave and be nice to others, this can also teach you about different personalities in the world. And what it means to offend them, what is considered rude and not rude and opens up a perspective of different hobbies meaning more to others than your Sim. And how to handle opposing views and or not handle them and what consequences being mean or rude to others gain actually do. This opens up many views of socialization on one hand and it can teach you something about different cultures and teach you how buildings are different in different parts of the world. Architecture is always good to learn and how something works. Though we can do a lot of silly building in these games, it can teach you how 3D games use those tools to bring to life what you imagine onto the screen and actually be workable.

The Sims is not only a social game but broadens your horizons on many different levels. Maybe if you are really good this year your mom will surprise you. But explain it's not just a silly game but offers you many insights into how 3D games are built and work even by just playing you somehow learn these things over time. And can broaden your interests in what you want to do in your life.
