I checked with testingcheats enabled, and yes, with Shift+rightclick(?) on plant, I could set the plant's cycle to wilted, and then remove it. Phew... But these plants are suddenly all over Cavalier Cove, I played that world (BB) a lot in the past, but don't think I saw a single trash plant bar a couple on my dog owner sim's lot.
