he have been working and not getting famous at all..so I had to do other things, like writing books, singing in the streets, stuff like that just to get him famous...anyone know how do get them famous?

this career does not give you fame points or away to get fame..

  • There's nothing for doctors specifically to do. I suppose realistically it makes sense, but for the game it seems silly that it was the only career to be completely left out.

I have been using the Robot to follow him at work on the Stream one it's working, lt's kind of like live PD or cops but it's more like live Doctor..LOL
  • @Stormkeep -- oh my, the HIPPA violations! the lawsuits! :anguished: :astonished: :confounded:

  • Active careers have no opportunity to earn fame and it is all based on actions they perform. From that list scientist has the most they can do to earn fame. Sim ray, satellite, wormhole generator, cloning machine. Detective has solving cases and I guess if you wanted you could fight the criminals before you arrest them. Doctor unfortunately has nothing.

That said like others have said social media updates and using the drone to record/stream your work day. I can see a famous doctor filming their surgeries, or their cases to social media.

Look at Dr. Pimple Popper who records herself removing pimples, cysts, and other gross stuff and she is famous because of it. If she didn't post those videos no one would know who she is and she would just be another doctor.

I think it makes sense for active careers to well require you to be more active in your sims ability to gain fame. For standard careers opportunities are kinda required as there is less opportunity for you as the player help them earn fame.

@stutum Not even close.. I have a famous painter and a famous eSport gamer in my game. I also would have had a famous chef, had I not explicitly gone out of my way to make sure he didn't build too much fame (still made it to the 2nd tier despite that). All of that is without using the livestreaming stuff that GF added to allow you to really push the fame for non-acting sims.

So yah, you can build fame with other careers. Relatively easily for the two I mention, which are the only two I have tried so far since GF came out.

Unfortunately, @honeypooh1267, I have not followed the doctor career track yet so can't provide any insight into how to pursue fame with that particular career.

Famous painter and mixologist here. And I had a sim who was gaining fame in the social media career before she died just after getting to one star. Her wife has almost earned her first star as a politician in the charity branch.

  • Honestly, it's one of the my biggest disappointments in GF.

I mean... celebrity chefs and painters don't get fame from their job either. So plum. That's even more plum than a doctor not getting famous.

Yes, they do. But only at the higher levels of the career. You can also get fame from the skills themselves.
