How to give an object to a sim in a different household?

Hello simmers! I was wondering if anyone knew how to give objects back to another sim in a different household? My sims currently have a bunch of military trophies from my military sim who now lives...

@Netzspannung's method is much simpler than mine (and I'll probably be using it from now on!).

Mine would be to temporarily add your military Sim to the household, let them pick up their stuff, and then move them back to their own house.
