Ah well, Origin is an odd piece of software.
It has a power to verify and repair files, but sometimes seems it's repair option isn't working well (remember odd issues with Sims 4 patches and **%THS*f* dialogues instead of actual words that couldn't be solved through it)?
I suspect that it can't detect and resolve bad registry key sometimes, but that's where actual uninstall through add/remove programs should be used.
