How to keep neighbors out of your house?

Nieghbours never ever come over to my home. In fact I don't think I even know who my neighbours are. The only ones who keep coming to my The Sims home are her Sim friends. And they come over quite often.

Oh, they don't even use the doors. They walk right through the walls and it's on a really high foundation. So, they levitate and walk straight through the house. Then they levitate down and walk through the fence. It depends on where the game spawns them because there is a spawn point close to that lot. If they are not spawned just right, they route through the lot.

I'm using the ones with the circular window on top. They are either in the middle height or the largest height.

Have you played in a house that you did not build? Did they still come in on their own?

I've not had this problem on any other lot. I think it has to do with the community garden being directly behind it and the townies trying to route to it. Since my Sims pretty much ignore the rest of the town and just hang out with each other? The entire world seems to congregate in front of and around their house.

Nancy Landgraab just did her snooty walk right through their house, I wanted to smack her.

I'll try starting a new game and just using the house that was already there to see if they still route through it.

Yep. I've had them come over and enter. Sometimes I don't notice them in the house right away... They are wacked sims I guess. Insane trait maybe? Maybe overconfident, so they walk right in?

It's a mystery.

I just had this happen. My current sim needs to make friends for both her career and her aspiration. She introduced herself to the bartender at the lounge Wednesday night, then while she was eating breakfast Thursday he snuck into her house uninvited and started using her computer. I didn't even notice him until I went to click on her computer to do some writing (while she was washing her plate) and I saw him sitting there. They aren't even friends; he's just an acquaintance.

I just leave them standing at the doorstep....

I am envious since I can´t go and visit houses/knock on doors on my own (sims) .... So it´s my revenge *lol*

There is a mod over on MTS to limit how often Sims want to come by your Sim's house. I haven't tried it, but will give it a go to test whether it causes me any problems and or works. Most of the mods I have tried recently work very well.

That shouldn't happen and is a bug. You really should report that or tell the gurus today when they come in for their chat.

I haven't played it since right after the pool patch came out. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

My Sim had friends at the door all the time prior! If she invites one in, that's all that comes in. If she asked him to leave, he left. She never spoke to any of the others standing at the door because if she did, they would come in!

I hope that is not a new bug because I don't care for all of them being in my sims house :o

This doesn't happen to me. o_0 Hope you solve it!

The December patch broke some lots. It made them not residential anymore. To fix it you have to evict your family to household management. Go into the house once it's empty and in the build menu click the lot info button, (house that has an 'i' on it). If this shows a blue square on the left side or anything other than 'residential' your lot type changed. To change it, click the box that says something like venue and scroll down to residential. Leave build mode, move family back in, problem solved. Had the same problem and found the answer here somewhere in an old thread.
