How to plant more Money trees?

You need to take a cutting of the money tree and graft it onto another plant. This will cause the grafted plant to produce money tree seeds which you can then plant or sell for roughly 3,000 simoleons.

Just put the tree in the household inventory and you'll get plantable money tree 'fruits'.

So I'm assuming your sim needs to be relatively good at gardening to enable this option?

Every time I do this, it just takes the entire tree into the inventory -- I don't see any fruits from it :/

The tree has to have harvest on it in order to do that. It seems exploitative to me but it's definitely an option.

I preferred to raise one tree to "perfect" quality and then clone it to get more perfect trees, but this requires a scientist.

@Gagea and @Cupid are right. Putting the tree in the family inventory, when it is ready to be harvested, will put the money tree fruits in your inventory as well, then you can plant them all. And if you go the route of taking a clipping from a money tree, they can only have a clipping taken from them once or twice, then they die out.

And money trees do eventually die (they did when we first got them, can't say 100% it's still a thing), so really, taking a clipping and grafting them onto a different plant, guarantees you will always have a harvest of money 'fruit'.

If I remember correctly, you have to do it in build mode.
