How to stop a sim from stealing

Understandable though, as the player, that you would prefer to manage your sim's actions yourself and have your sim steal when YOU want to rather than when your sim wants to. The player is supposed to rule and I think this is one of the problems with this game; the sims are so self sufficient that the player doesn't rule as much as the player might like! Basically, they've made the game so well that the sims themselves don't need any direction from the player; they particularly good at directing themselves. The thing is, are smart sims what players want or would they prefer their sims to be dumbed down a little? For myself, I prefer to partake in my game rather than just watch as the play unfolds.

Yes, I tend to be rather controlling of my sims. I found it reasonable with it just being my sim as I found it amusing and made the choice that she is simply under house arrest from now on. What I find more troubling is the sims I don't control at all, random spawned sims stealing things is just infuriating. But yes like you I rather play than watch.

Last I've checked, I've only got about 5-6 sims with klepto, but they're not really good at stealing since there's so many sims around that they get caught.

I don't know, haven't played much since the patch but I have noticed the only thing they seem to be stealing rather insistently is the toiletpaper. Amusing but annoying, still I like to think somewhere somesim is suffering from some serious stomach ache to be needing all that paper.
