I don't understand what's with this case - work in the police
My sim works in the police as an officer, and she has a mission to start a case map, but when I click on the map it appears to go to patrol and there is nothing there. Adds a picture

Usually it always works and yes I click on Get case assignment at the beginning, but there are times like in this section when I click on the map and there is nothing there, sometimes there are people who are beaten so you have to give them a report
Going on patrol does not help you at all in solving your main case. While you're patrolling the streets you are only looking for smaller crimes like two sims fighting each other.
Starting a case map is tied to the bigger crimes, where you can actually investigate the crime scene and gather evidence that you can then analyze. So, if you already got a case assignment, the only other thing I can think of, is that the bulletin board did not reset properly. To fix that you could try to replace it with a new one. Therefor you would need to enter the cheat bb.enablefreebuild (to open the cheat console you have to press Strg + Shift + C simultaneously, if you're playing on a Windows PC) while being in the police office. Then you can access build mode to delete the current bulletin board and put down a new one. I hope that helps.
