Personally I want seasons because I get tired of the same setting all the time and changing seasons helps me stay interested in one family for longer. Also my favorite seasons are winter and fall so being constantly stuck in a sunny summer/spring world makes me sad. I love rain and wind and the like so putting it into my game makes me happy. For a lot of people it's about realism but for me it's about having aspects that change from day to day. It's why I actually really liked apartments with the festival's that popped up. It's just differing opinions. People want things for different reasons or don't want them for different reasons. I'm sorry you had an issue with the weather's tuning in sims 3.
